Postpartum Depression and Anxiety

Postpartum Depression seems like a scary topic to discuss. The news might show scary headlines of Postpartum Depression and make you think Moms who are depressed or anxious in the Postpartum period want to hurt their babies or themselves. This is not the norm. I know if you are reading this, you do NOT want to hurt your baby. And if you are having scary thoughts of your baby getting hurt, it is often due a previous history of Depression or Anxiety, and that these thoughts are really bothersome to you. I know because I’ve had them. And so has every other Mom I know. It is normal to worry about our babies and second guess our choices and question, “Am I doing enough?” I’m sure if you worry about not doing enough as a Mom, it probably means that you are in fact, doing enough.
